Olmayan Sorular:
Amerika'da 'discriminatin'
(ayrımcılık) çok özen gösterilen bir konu olduğu için mülakat sırasında ayrımcılığa
neden olabilecek soruların sorulması yasaktır. 1964'de yayınlanan İnsan Hakları
Yasasının 7. maddesi işverenlerin ırk, dil, din, cinsiyet, renk ayırımı yapmalarını
yasaklar. 1991'de çıkan Amerikalı Özürlüler Yasasının 1. maddesi de başvuru
prosedürü, işe alınma, eğitim, tazmin, ikramiye dahil istihdamın her aşamasında
özürlü insanları korumaktadır.
Bu sorular aşağıdaki
kategorilere ayrılmıştır:
Kişisel Sorgulama:
Yaş, doğum tarihi, evlilik durumu, çocuklarınızın yaşı veya kaç tane olduğu,
eşinizin işi türünde sorular yasaktır. İşveren sadece iş sorumlulukları ile
ilgili soru sorabilir.
Yasal olmayan sorular:

Yasal sorular:
- Are you over
the age of 18?
- Travel is an
important part of the job for which you are interviewing. Would you be able

Köken Sorgulaması:
Başvuranın doğum yeri, anadili ve ülkesi gibi sorular yasaktır. İşveren
başvuran kişinin Amerika'da çalışmak için yasal haklarını sorabilir. Ayrıca
o iş için yabancı dil gerekiyor ise dilinin akıcılığı hakkında soru sorabilir.
